RIGHT Foundation
The RIGHT Foundation is a South Korea-based public-private partnership (PPP) between the Government of Korea (GOK), Korean Life Science companies, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). Dedicated to supporting global health R&D, it provides a platform for catalysing collaboration between Korean and international researchers to develop vaccines, treatments and diagnostics for infectious diseases (both endemic and emerging) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The RIGHT Foundation issues calls for proposals for two awards: the Product Development Award and the Evidence Generation Award.

There is currently one funding opportunity available: General Call for Product Development Award – aimed at developing vaccines, therapeutics, biologics, or diagnostic platforms, including technology transfer of target intervention from or to a Korean partner to alleviate the disproportionate burden of infectious diseases in the World Bank-defined low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Applications to the General call for Product Development Award will be reviewed on a rolling basis until 31 December 2024. Please find below the following deadlines:

- Notification of full proposal invitation: 08 February; 09 April 2024; 10 June 2024; 09 August 2024; 10 October 2024
- Full proposal submission date: early April 2024; early June 2024; early August 2024; early October 2024; early November 2024
- Funding decision by the Board of directors: early July 2024; late November 2024; Late February 2024; Late April 2025

Grant
The applicant team must include at least one Korean entity with R&D expertise to make a significant contribution to the project. The eligible entities are the following:
- For-profit companies engaged in life science or healthcare
- Non-profit research organizations and foundations
- Government research institutions
- Academic institutions
- Public health laboratories
Determined based on discussions and negotiations between awardees and Project participants.

Up to 4 billion Korean won per project for up to 36 months. Co-funding required for at least 50% of the project cost from the project team which includes for-profit entities. Not applicable if the project team consists of only academic institutions and/or non-profit organisations.
